The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Neurobiology degree administered by the Department of Biology focuses on the biological basis of neurological processes at the molecular and cellular level.
Neurobiology is the study of the nervous system and its role in behavior, cognition and physiology. This interdisciplinary field integrates concepts and approaches from biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, psychology and medicine. The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Neurobiology provides students with a strong foundation in the life sciences, along with core coursework and research experiences that present fundamental principles of biology through the lens of neuroscience and behavior. Graduates are well prepared for careers in the health sciences, biotechnology, education, artificial intelligence and machine learning, robotics, brain-machine interfaces, gaming and entertainment, space exploration and defense. Their training also prepares them to contribute to the emerging fields of neuroethics and neurosecurity and makes them competitive applicants for medical, professional and graduate programs.
