The minor in Hispanic Studies for Community Engagement offers students the opportunity to combine advanced Spanish language skills and Hispanic cultural knowledge with a service-learning experience. This minor complements degrees from other disciplines as it can incorporate courses taught in English that address multiple themes from throughout the Hispanic world. Coursework for this minor consists of Spanish, Anthropology, English, Hispanic Studies, History, Philosophy, Political Science, or Sociology; and a service-learning experience with an organization or institution whose primary focus is providing services to Hispanic or Spanish-speaking communities.
