AERS 101 Heritage and Values I

Credit 1. 1 Lecture Hour. Introduction to the Department of the Air Force (DAF); overview of the basic characteristics, missions, and organization of the Air and Space Forces.

AERS 102 Heritage and Values II

Credit 1. 1 Lecture Hour. Continuation of AERS 101; introduction to the Department of the Air Force (DAF); overview of the basic characteristics, missions, and organization of the Air and Space Forces.

AERS 105 AFROTC Leadership Lab I

Credit 1. 2 Lab Hours. Dynamic and integrated grouping of leadership developmental activities designed to meet the needs and expectations of prospective Department of the Air Force second lieutenants and complement the AFROTC academic program; emphasis on planning, organizing, and executing practicum conducted under the supervision of the Detachment Commander and Operations Flight Commander. Must be taken on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis.

AERS 106 AFROTC Leadership Lab II

Credit 1. 2 Lab Hours. Continuation of AERS 105; dynamic and integrated grouping of leadership developmental activities designed to meet the needs and expectations of prospective Department of the Air Force second lieutenants and complement the AFROTC academic program; emphasis on planning, organizing, and executing practicum conducted under the supervision of the Detachment Commander and Operations Flight Commander. Must be taken on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis.

AERS 201 Team and Leadership Fundamentals I

Credit 1. 1 Lecture Hour. Fundamental understanding of both leadership and team building; preparation of students for field training and leadership positions in the detachment. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in AERS 102.

AERS 202 Team and Leadership Fundamentals II

Credit 1. 1 Lecture Hour. Continuation of AERS 201; fundamental understanding of both leadership and team building; preparation of students for field training and leadership positions in the detachment. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in AERS 201.

AERS 303 Leading People and Effective Communication I

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Utilization of field training experience with a more in-depth look at leadership; special emphasis is placed on enhancing communication skills, and why that is important as a leader; opportunity to try out leadership and management techniques in a supervised environment as juniors and seniors. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in AERS 202; approval of instructor and department head for non-AFROTC enrolled in Military Studies and Leadership minors.

AERS 304 Leading People and Effective Communication II

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Utilization of field training experience for a more in-depth look at leadership; special emphasis on enhancement of communication skills, and the importance of said skills as a leader; opportunity to practice leadership and management techniques in a supervised environment. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in AERS 303; approval of instructor and department head for non-AFROTC enrolled in Military Studies and Leadership minors.

AERS 403 National Security Affairs--Preparation for Active Duty

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Examines the Constitution and the national security process; focuses on civilian control of the military; the roles of the Services; and the functions of the Air Force commands; Air Force contract individuals (or those seeking a contract) must register for Leadership Lab (AERS 105). Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in AERS 304; concurrent enrollment in AERS 105; non-Air Force contract students must have approval of instructor and department head.

AERS 404 National Security Affairs—Preparation for Active Duty

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. National Security Affairs--Preparation for Active Duty. Continuation of AERS 403; Air Force contract individuals (or those seeking a contract) must register for Leadership Lab (AERS 106). Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in AERS 403; concurrent enrollment in AERS 106; non-Air Force contract students must have approval of instructor and department head.

AERS 485 Directed Studies

Credits 1 to 3. 1 to 3 Other Hours. Directed study of problems in the field of aerospace studies. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in AERS 404; Air Force ROTC Cadet; junior or senior classification; approval of department head.
