This combination program enables motivated students to receive their Bachelor of Science in Maritime Business Administration (MBAU) undergraduate degree and a Master of Maritime Business Administration and Logistics (MBAA) graduate degree in five years.
This program allows Maritime Business Administration (MBAU) majors to enter the graduate program for a Master of Maritime Business Administration and Logistics at the beginning of their senior year.
Students admitted to the 5-year combined degree program will have completed coursework required to receive a bachelor's degree. These courses must include the specific prerequisites for a Bachelor of Science degree in Maritime Business Administration, as well as the required Texas A&M University core curriculum courses.
Maritime Business Administration majors who have at least a 3.00 GPA and who have taken all of their prerequisite courses and otherwise completed 60 hours by the spring of their third year will be eligible to apply for the 5-year combined program during their junior year. Applicants interested in the 5-year program should contact the MARA Chair of Graduate Studies and also consult the MARA website. The 5-year combined degree applicants will be judged competitively by the same admission criteria as for other MBAA applicants.
Students will be required to complete graduate hours that include core courses in economics, management, operations and logistics. The electives will be chosen according to the interest of the student in consultation with an academic adviser.
All undergraduate courses are offered on the Galveston Campus. Graduate level courses may be offered as traditional format courses on the Galveston Campus or via asynchronous distance education technology.
