Communication Leadership and Conflict Management - Certificate
The Communication Leadership and Conflict Management Certificate (CLCM), offered by the Department of Communication, is designed to develop communication leadership competence in interpersonal/group collaborative spheres and social/political arenas, to facilitate communication one on one in interpersonal interactions, across private and public boundaries and to mediate conflict in such diverse groups as families, work teams, political and religious groups and those engaged in geopolitical discord. Each CLCM certificate holder will be certified in basic mediation by the State of Texas. The CLCM certificate prepares students for understanding the growth and impact of communication leadership and of conflict management, especially within the context of communication, and will serve undergraduate students well as they pursue diverse career options. Specific certificate requirements are available in the Office of Undergraduate Advising of the Department of Communication. Details are also available on the Department of Communication website.
Students must earn a grade of “B” or better in each course used to meet the requirements. Students who pursue the CLCM must complete all requirements prior to graduation.
