Master of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering

The self-funded non-thesis aerospace engineering degree program is designed for students seeking an applied engineering career, focusing solely on coursework.

The Department of Aerospace Engineering offers a 30 credit hour course-work based, non-thesis Master of Engineering (MEngr) degree. All coursework will be in AERO or MEMA (Mechanics and Materials). However, students may take:

  1. Up to 3 graduate level courses (9-10 credits) from one of the following:
    1. Other departments in the College of Engineering, or
    2. College of Arts and Sciences with a focus on the sciences (e.g., math, statistics, geoscience, physics, etc.)

  2. Only one graduate level course from one of the following:
    1. Mays Business School,
    2. School of Law, or
    3. Bush School of Government and Public Service.

The Graduate Director, or a faculty member appointed to the role, serves as the sole member of the student's committee. Students admitted to this program must have a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or an equivalent field; if the degree is not in a closely related engineering field, leveling courses may be required.

This program is also approved for delivery via asynchronous distance education technology.
