Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management - BS, Outdoor Enterprise Management Track
The Outdoor Enterprise Management track is a cross-disciplinary program that provides training in the basic principles of wildlife and fisheries ecology, hospitality and food services, and business management.
Training in this program prepares graduates for employment at any of thousands of hunting and fishing lodges, ranches, corporate retreat facilities, and other consumptive and non-consumptive use facilities worldwide.
Economic expenditures for hunting, fishing, and nature-based tourism are at an all-time high, and service sector businesses that specialize in providing hunting, fishing, and nature-based adventures have substantially increased over the last decade. These popular destinations for outdoor enthusiasts are unique enterprises because their successful operation requires a balance among work activities associated with wildlife management and conservation, hospitality, and business. The most successful enterprises ensure that the consumptive and non-consumptive uses of wildlife and fishery resources meet the ethical standards of society while ensuring that the customer has the experience of a lifetime.
