Spanish for the Health Professions - Minor

The minor in Spanish for the Health Professions is designed to prepare students interested in developing Spanish proficiency in a culturally sensitive manner within biomedical environments.

The minor is ideal for future professionals interested in serving Spanish-speaking clients in clinical settings by developing Spanish-language skills and cultural competency. Required coursework includes intermediate and advanced Spanish-language classes with a focus on biomedical terminology and contexts. The program complements a variety of degree programs in areas such as nursing, life sciences, biomedical sciences, biology, psychological and brain sciences, dentistry, public health sciences among other professional programs in medical fields.
