The EC-3 program focuses on preparing teachers to teach children in early childhood through 3rd grade general education settings, which is an area of specialization identified by the Texas Education Agency.
The Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture (TLAC) offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Education. Completion of this program leads to teacher certification in grades EC-3 General Education, with supplemental English as a Second Language certification within the constraints outlined by the Texas Education Agency.
