Secondary Education - Clinical Teaching Minor

This program is for Secondary Education minors seeking Texas teacher certification, completing the required clinical teaching phase after Educator Preparation Program admission.

The Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture (TLAC) offers a minor in Secondary Education – Clinical Teaching to students with non-education majors seeking secondary teacher certification who are declared Secondary Education (SEED) minors previously admitted to the College of Education and Human Development’s Educator Preparation Program (EPP). Only students who have added the Secondary Education (SEED) minor and accepted admission into the EPP can add the Secondary Education – Clinical Teaching minor. The SEED minor establishes and meets the mandatory 300-hour clock hour Texas Education Agency coursework, field experiences, and certification testing requirements. The Secondary Education – Clinical Teaching minor supports students in the capstone phase required for teacher certification.
